An unoccupied Turanville Road house was destroyed by fire on Monday night.

Sergeant Sutton from Scone Police said neighbours noticed the house well alight and called emergency services.

It is believed the fire started between 5pm and 6.15pm.

Aberdeen and Kingdon Ponds Fire Brigades along with Scone Police attended the blaze which took three hours to extinguish.

Sgt Sutton said the cause of the fire is yet to be determined and Hunter Valley detectives and forensic police were conducting an examination of the site on Tuesday.
